Leo Marburg is a music director and pianist originally from the San Francisco Bay Area.
About
Drawing on years of choral singing and classical and jazz piano training, Leo brings a strong and versatile musical foundation to his work. In addition, having acted on stage in dozens of shows in both lead and ensemble roles, Leo can anticipate the needs and concerns of actors.
Leo honed his musical leadership skills at Williams College, where he conducted and music directed several full-length productions including Pippin; The Last Five Years; You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown; and Peter and the Starcatcher. During this time, he also worked professionally as an accompanist for both the music and theatre departments.
For Leo, this most rewarding aspect of theatre is getting to see the hard work of so many talented people come together to create a fantastic final product, as well as the community that this collaboration creates along the way.
Outside of theatre, Leo is an avid language learner and traveler.
